About

Every July 22 at sunset a single-file procession of decorated boats sails from Perast to the man-made island of Gospa od Škrpjela, each dropping stones to reinforce the island — a 15th-century maritime tradition followed by a regatta the next morning.

Highlights

  • Sunset boat procession from Perast to Our Lady of the Rocks
  • Each boat drops stones, continuing a 570-year-old tradition
  • Tamburitza music, seafood and a fašinada regatta next day

Practical tips

  • Perast is ~20 min from Kotor — go early evening to see the boats
  • Watch from Perast's waterfront or join a tour boat in the procession
  • Pair with a daytime visit to the island's church and museum
